Charles Souby

Charles Souby was born and raised on the Chicago North Shore. In the fall of 1975 he moved to San Francisco, where he graduated with a BA in English Literature from San Francisco State University. The ensuing fifteen years found him struggling in Alaska and California, living close to the curb suffering from alcoholism and drug addiction. He spent the late 80’s and early 90’s as a San Francisco cab driver and street musician.

In 1999, comfortably relieved of his demons he moved to Marin County, where he began to pursue his dream in literature as well as improv acting.

Charles has been a mureed in the Inayati Sufi Order for over twenty years. He is also a student of Advaita (non-dual) spiritual philosophy. He moved to the Hawaiian Islands in 2017 where he currently resides.
